Tanks to Our Veterans: The Story, the Impact, and How to Nominate

Wade Roberts Plumbing • November 4, 2026

Every November, Wade Roberts Plumbing brings back one of our favourite traditions of the year: Tanks to Our Vets. It is our way of honouring the veterans in our community while also helping Greater Victoria homeowners get their hot water ready for the colder months ahead. Gratitude and getting winter-ready go hand in hand this time of year, and this campaign brings both together in a way our whole team looks forward to.

Knowing how the nomination process works, and what else this time of year brings, makes it easy to get involved or take advantage of what is currently available before the season gets any colder.

What We Cover:

What Tanks to Our Vets Is

Tanks to Our Vets is our annual way of saying thank you to veterans in Greater Victoria, timed each year around Remembrance Day on November 11. It is a small gesture of gratitude for people who have given so much to our community and our country, and it has become something our whole team looks forward to every fall. A hot water tank might seem like an ordinary thing to give, but for a family on a tight budget, it can make a real difference at exactly the time of year when it matters most.

How to Nominate a Veteran

Nominating a veteran, or entering yourself if you are one, is simple and can be done anytime through our website: https://www.waderobertsplumbing.com/tanks-to-our-veterans. Anyone in the community can submit a nomination on someone's behalf, and veterans are welcome to enter directly as well, with no complicated forms or lengthy process involved. It only takes a few minutes, and it is a genuinely easy way to say thank you to someone who has served.

Who Is Eligible to Be Nominated?

Any veteran in the Greater Victoria area is eligible, whether nominated by a family member, a friend, a neighbour, or themselves. There is no complicated process, just a nomination submitted through our website before this year's Remembrance Day draw takes place, so there is still time to put a name forward.

Getting Winter-Ready With Our Current Rheem Promotion

As colder days arrive, it is also a great time to make sure your hot water is ready for winter. Cold snaps have a way of exposing a water heater that has been quietly struggling all year, and getting ahead of that now beats dealing with a cold shower once temperatures really drop. A water heater working harder to keep up with colder incoming water is often the first sign something needs attention, and catching it early gives you more control over timing than waiting for a failure would.

For a limited time, we are offering $150 off select Rheem water heaters, plus a free 4-year warranty upgrade, making this a genuinely good time to book a health check or consider a replacement before winter fully sets in.

How Do I Take Advantage of the Rheem Promotion?

Simply request a quote through our website or give us a call, and we will let you know whether your current water heater qualifies for the promotion or whether a replacement makes more sense for your household this winter.

Locally Owned, Here for the Long Run

We are locally owned and have been proudly serving Greater Victoria for more than 20 years, known for upfront communication, clear pricing, and 24/7, 5-star service that puts you first in every interaction. Whether you are nominating a veteran, requesting a quote, or simply want to know more about either program, we would love to hear from you this November. If you know a veteran who deserves this kind of thank you, or your hot water needs a winter check, reach out to nominate a veteran or request a quote today.
